Trial Notice] WriteAid Similarity Scanner Now Open for Trial + Online Training Sessions (Conducted in Mandarin)
---------------------------

Dear Graduate Students,
To assist students in writing their theses and to provide a tool for checking the similarity of thesis content, the National Central Library, in collaboration with the National Taiwan Normal University team, has developed the "WriteAid Similarity Scanner." This system is now open for trial use. We encourage you to make full use of this opportunity.
⚠ Important Reminder: When submitting documents to your department or advisor, please continue to use the Turnitin system to generate similarity reports. This trial is solely for the National Central Library's system testing and will not be used in any graduation procedures at our university.
📌Since the comparison scope of the "WriteAid Similarity Scanner." differs from that of the "Turnitin System," students are advised to use both systems for similarity checks after passing the oral defense and finalizing the thesis to ensure comprehensive and accurate results.
Please remember to save the similarity check results to avoid discrepancies caused by system updates, which may affect future academic ethics investigations. Preparing in advance can effectively reduce risks and protect your research achievements.
---------------------------
🔧【Trial System Information】
- Eligibility: No application form is needed. Once you pass your oral defense and the "thesis format review," you can generate a similarity report by selecting "Similarity Scanner" in the thesis upload system.
- User Manual: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ABiNf-vVZNP1-PQCTbDTQpbgIhHigESX/view
- FAQ: https://wass.ncl.edu.tw/faq.html (Please click the "English" button in the top right corner for the English FAQ)
- System Support: https://reurl.cc/qVobDD. Please report any issues to help optimize the system.
📂Data Source: The system includes theses collected in the National Central Library's thesis database, including both public and non-public theses.
📅Trial Period: From now until Sunday, August 31, 2025.
---------------------------
🚫Trial Restrictions:
- Only upload the thesis that you have authored. Do not upload published papers, including theses or journal articles. The system has blocking mechanisms and will log these actions.
- Please generate the similarity report when uploading your thesis. Once the thesis is "submitted for review" and "approved," it is considered a "published thesis" and should not be uploaded to the detection system.
- Each person can generate up to 5 reports.
- The system regularly deletes data, so please download and save your Similarity reports.
- This system is limited to current graduating graduate students for trial use and is not available for use by faculty or other students.
📣【Online Training Sessions】
The National Central Library will hold two online training sessions to explain the system functions and operations.
All students are welcome to attend either session.
⚠ Please note: Both sessions will be conducted in Mandarin Chinese. We appreciate your understanding.
- May 28 (Wednesday), 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
- June 11 (Wednesday), 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
👉 The meeting links are attached.
No registration is required. Students from all universities are welcome to join either session. A recording and presentation slides will be provided after the sessions.
